Effective 7/29/10, the ALATA Executive Council has officially
accepted the resignation of Heloise Belarmino which was submitted to
the Executive Council on 7/27/10. Our recent advances in the
legislative efforts in Montgomery are largely due to her diligence
to the goal of strengthening Athletic Training in the State of
Alabama, not to mention many other achievements under her terms of
service. We thank her for her years of service to the profession
and to ALATA. Karen Straub Stanton is currently serving as Interim
President as per By-law Section 3.6a.
As required by ALATA By-laws, a special election for the completion
of this presidential term is immediately called. This specially
elected presidential term will remain in service until 1/1/2011 when
the regularly elected President will begin the next regular term.

8/12/10. The Special Election for President will begin 8/14/10 and
conclude 10:59 pm 8/28/10. Once nominations are closed, ballot
information will follow. Timely announcement to the ALATA
membership will follow our verification of results.
The special election announced in the 7/22/10 eBlast is still in the
nomination phase. Please send those nominations to

by 8/6/10. This special
election is for the offices of ALATA Vice President and ALATA
Non-Officer position. Please see the

these elections. Once nominations are closed, ballot information
will follow.
