SEATA Registration Closes Soon

Advance registration for the 32nd Annual District IX Meeting March 22-25, 2007 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs, Franklin, TN will soon close.

This year's excellent educational program will feature numerous presentations on the shoulder with a grand total of 26.5 CEUs if you attend all of the regularly scheduled sessions (14.5 CEUs), all of the mini-courses (6 CEUs) and the Casting and Splinting Techniques for the Upper and Lower Extremities One Day Workshop (6 CEUs).
Complete details are on the SEATA website, but below are a few highlights.

  • SEATA Governmental Affairs Committee Social/Fundraiser on Friday evening March 23rd to help promote legislative advancements in every state.  Our share of this is based upon how many Alabama members we have attending.

  • The Inaugural SEATA Hall of Fame Induction ceremony on Saturday, March 24th during the Tim Kerin Awards Luncheon featuring the 36 NATA Hall of Fame members from District IX which include Alabamians Jim Goostree, Kenny Howard, & Bill McDonald.

  • Mini-courses and presentations feature some speakers from Alabama including Brad Montgomery who is providing a mini-course on Facemask Removal with Eric Fuchs.  Glenn S. Fleisig, PhD  and Shouchen Dun, MS, both of the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham will present Pitching  Injuries in Adolescents and Biomechanics of the Shoulder during Baseball Pitching, respectively.  Additional presentations include Shoulder Dissection, NSAIDs, Scapula Exercises, Special Test Sensitivity, Return to Play Guidelines, SEC Case Studies, Youth Sports Injuries, and much, much more.

 Advance registration closes March 3 for mail-in & March 10 for online.

Rooms at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs must be reserved on or before Saturday, March 10, 2007 to ensure the $109.00 room rate by calling 615-261-6100 or 888-403-6772.  Cancellations must be made more than 72 hours prior to arrival.  After that time, attendees will be charged for the first night of their reservation.  Request "the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association group rate". 

  
   

ALATA Meeting set for May 18-20
Please join the Alabama Athletic Trainers Association for the annual meeting at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, Sandestin, FL on May 18-20, 2007.  We feel that we have several excellent presenters who will provide a quality educational experience.  We will be providing the opportunity to obtain 15 total continuing educational credits.  More details will be available soon on the ALATA website, www.alata.org.

The registration fee will be $100 for early registration and $130 for late and on-site registration. This price is for ALATA and Non- ALATA members. For $100 you get 15 quality continuing education credits. Room rates start at $134 plus tax and must be reserved by April 17, 2007.  The last day to early register is May 1st, 2007 for the ALATA Meeting.  *Remember April 17 is the cut off date to get discounted room rates so please reserve your room prior to this date.
