Chris King Letter of Thanks to ALATA Membership
Dear Heloise and ALATA,

I want to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart.  We received your gift this weekend and I can not tell you how it made Amy and I feel that we have such good friends from the athletic training world.  This was an amazing thing to see.  I had no idea that my family was thought of enough to have my profession step up for us at this time of healing.  Amy is starting work today at Bryan Elementary with many days of recovery ahead of her.  She will most likely face more surgery this October to readjust her rod in her femur and two surgeries in 2010 to remove it all.  She is an amazing woman and she is much tougher than I.  Thank you so much from our family and specifically from my heart as this gift was tremendous.

Sunset Review for Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers

The Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers will have its “Sunset” Review on Thursday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m.  The review will be conducted in Montgomery at the Alabama State House, 11 South Union Street, on the 8th floor.

This is a very important hearing (occurs every four years) to assess how well the Board is functioning and its effectiveness in fulfilling its duties.  It will afford us an opportunity to address any significant issues and findings which were identified by the auditors from the Public Examiners Department and answer any questions that arise.  The Sunset Review Committee will make a recommendation to the Legislature regarding the continuation of the Board based on the hearing.
